Serial numbers
- ? – ? (2022–?) — Breitling's modern models (MY22+) do not carry a traditional serial number range; instead a WWYY date stamp (calendar week + year) is stamped between the lower lugs at 6 o'clock; e.g. '0122' = week 01/2022; no publicly verified serial ranges exist for A17375
In 2022, Breitling rebuilt the entire Superocean line from the ground up, and the Ref. A17375 has served as the 42mm base of that collection ever since. The case picked up a new shape, the old aluminum unidirectional bezel gave way to a black ceramic version with 60 clicks, and the date moved to the 6 o'clock position. Breitling introduced two larger siblings at the same time, the 44mm A17376 and the 46mm A17378 — since then the A17375 has run as the smallest of the three sizes. The branding changed too: the capital "O" in Superocean became a lowercase "o," a detail that instantly identifies MY22 models. Collectors have taken to calling the reference simply the SO42 or New Gen SO.
## Ten dials, one reference
Within the A17375, Breitling varied things unusually widely. Options included a deep Blue Danube dial, a green model with bronze accents, and a limited Kelly Slater edition in orange that references CITES certificates for ocean conservation. There's also a Rainbow dial with a colored index ring and a silver model carrying the reference E71G1. Regional special editions like the WoS UK Blue dial show just how far Breitling fanned the Superocean out across individual retail markets.
