When Breitling introduced Ref. A17375211B1S1 in 2022 as the SO42 MY22, the steel bezel of the A17366 disappeared along with it. The new Superocean Automatic 42 wears ceramic instead, with a 42mm diameter, 12.56mm case height, and 47.76mm lug-to-lug. Water resistance dropped to 300m from the 500m of its predecessor, but the case now carries clear nods to the Superocean "Slow Motion" of the 1960s. Power comes from the COSC-certified Caliber 17, a solid in-house movement base, nothing exotic.
## Four Strap Colors, One Rainbow: The Special Editions from 2022
Alongside the standard-production A17375211B1S1, Breitling ran the Rainbow Dial Edition A17375211B2 in 2022, with a gradient bezel in rainbow colors and a matching rubber strap. Four suffixes: S1 in turquoise, S2 in aquamarine, S4 in yellow, list price $5,200. Rarer still was the Kelly Slater Limited Edition A173751A1O1S1 — orange dial, 1,000 pieces worldwide, caseback engraved "One of 1000." For the UK market, Watches of Switzerland also produced an additional 150 pieces per variant with a blue dial, sold exclusively through its own retail group.
