2021, timed to the launch of the Corvette, Mustang, and Shelby Cobra editions: Breitling fits the AB0176 with its own in-house B01 manufacture caliber for the first time in the Top Time line. Before this, the line ran on sourced movements. The 41mm steel case carries a fixed tachymeter bezel, with the squircle subdials underneath, square with rounded corners, the visual signature of the entire collection. Three editions at launch, each with its own dial code: Corvette Red (AB01761-K1), Mustang Green (AB01762-L1), and Shelby Cobra Blue Bi-Compax (AB01763-C1).
## From Muscle Car to Motorcycle — the 2022 Expansion
A year later, Breitling breaks from the pure car theme. The Deus Ex Machina edition (AB01765, black dial) is the first Top Time B01 not tied to a car manufacturer. Alongside it comes the Triumph edition (AB01764, Ice Blue), limited to 270 pieces, with a co-branded motorcycle bundle. Both carry partner logos directly on the dial, unusual for Breitling, which is typically more restrained about featuring other brands on the dial.
## Thunderbird Closes the Loop, Rose Gold Raises the Price Ceiling
March 2023: the Ford Thunderbird edition (AB01766, silver dial) wraps up the American muscle car series that began in 2021. At the same time, Breitling positions a premium tier above the steel models with the rose gold reference RB01761. 18-karat gold, no car branding, list price $23,900 at launch. The dedicated RB0176-101 bezel tooling in rose gold underscores that this variant sits deliberately apart from the collector editions.
Anyone submitting an AB0176 for appraisal should note that the collector nickname and dial code alone rarely tell the whole story — what matters is cross-checking the reference number against the edition's production limit and the bezel code.
