Breitling renamed reference AB2020 in 2019 without touching the movement at all. AB202033/xxx became AB2020121xxx, and the old designation was officially replaced by "Superocean Heritage B20 Automatic 46." The reason: the brand's repositioning under Georges Kern — a pure marketing decision, not a technical break. The B20 caliber stayed unchanged inside the case throughout the switch, a modified Tudor MT5612 base movement with a 70-hour power reserve. Among collectors, three names still circulate for the same model to this day: SOH II 46, Heritage B20 46, and Superocean Heritage 46 B20 — anyone searching online should keep all three in mind.
## Five Dials and a New Color in Year Three
At launch, the reference came in Black (121B1) and Blue (161C1), both already part of the lineup since 2017. Green arrived in 2019 as reference AB2020121L1, rounding out the palette to five variants. That also includes Silver (33G828) and Bronze (33Q618), both harder to find on the secondary market than the three main colors. The 46mm cases run with two ceramic bezels, unidirectional with a 60-click ratchet, in either black or blue. For authentication purposes, every dial-code-and-bezel-color combination matters, since aftermarket dials do circulate on the used market and the reference number alone says little about a watch's actual specification.
