The P.2002/1 isn't named at random — the number nods to the manufacture that opened in Neuchâtel in 2002. Among collectors, the reference usually goes by PAM 233 or, thanks to its distinctive dial, the Dot Dial. Eight days of power reserve and a second time zone are packed into the 44mm case, built on the Luminor 1950 case with a smooth steel bezel. Early examples from the I and J series carried a well-known issue: the so-called Stuck Fang, a power-reserve hand that jams in place.
## 2009: The Dial Changes Function, Not the Movement
Starting with the L series, the layout at 9 o'clock changes. Instead of a simple small seconds, the subdial now combines the seconds with an AM/PM indicator, and from this point the reference is designated PAM00233.2 — known among collectors as the AM/PM Dial. The P.2002/1 caliber itself stays unchanged; only the time-of-day readability gets added, which makes sense on a GMT watch. In practice, the transition was blurry: remaining K-series stock with the Dot Dial was still being shipped in 2009, so the two variants overlap in time.
