Serial numbers
- BB00001 – ? (2019–?) — All series (V–AB) run with the prefix BB. Serial number engraved on the caseback (Series W+), or on the caseback display ring for Series V. Nordic Edition (Series Z): additional individual engraving with the buyer's initials between the lugs.
The PAM00915 launched in 2020 across two case generations, but only the first lets you see inside. Series V, case numbers #7080 to #7347, features a sapphire display case back, giving an open view of the hand-wound P.5000 caliber with its eight-day power reserve. From Series W onward, Panerai closed the case back off entirely in steel. For collectors, that single change is the difference between a standard piece and a special case, and Series V trades at a premium on the secondary market accordingly.
## 2023: new name, zero new parts
Three years later, nothing changes but the label. The model name shifts from "Luminor Base" to "Luminor 8 Giorni," while the reference number PAM00915 stays exactly the same. The movement, the black sandwich dial, and the fixed steel bezel all carry over unchanged. Anyone buying what looks like two different models should check the reference first, not the text printed on the dial.
## 90 pieces for three countries: the Nordic Edition
Within that same Series Z, Panerai released a special run for Scandinavia in 2023: around 90 pieces split between Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, with roughly 30 per market. The only distinguishing feature is the engraving — a personalized case back, crown guard, and individually engraved lugs. Technically, the watch is identical to the standard 8 Giorni. For collectors documenting the PAM00915 in detail, the Nordic Edition is the rarest of the three known variants.
