- randomized – randomized (2018–?) — Rolex has used fully randomized serial numbers with no year reference since approx. 2010. Year-accurate production dating via serial number is not possible. Serial number engraved on the rehaut (inner, 6 o'clock position).
Rolex unveils reference 126233 at Baselworld 2018 as the successor to the 116233 — a Two-Tone Datejust 36 in Yellow Rolesor, known among collectors as the "Steel-and-Gold DJ36." Inside the case sits caliber 3235 in place of the older 3135, pushing power reserve from 48 to 70 hours. The case itself was reworked too, with lugs that run slimmer and taper more sharply than on its predecessor.
## Solid End Links Replace Hollow Links
The bracelet is where the generational shift shows most clearly. Where the 116233 still carried hollow links, the 126233 gets solid end links, along with the Oysterclasp and its 5-millimeter Easylink extension in place of the old Crownclasp. For lume, Rolex switches to Chromalight, giving hands and indices a blue glow instead of green.
